On behalf of the Philadelphia Korean Musicians Association (PKMA), it is our great pleasure to officially announce the 22nd Young Korean Musicians Competition!



For over four decades, this cherished biennial event has provided a wonderful platform for young Korean-American musicians in the Greater Philadelphia area to showcase their extraordinary talent, gain valuable performance experience, receive constructive feedback from distinguished judges, and inspire one another in the pursuit of musical excellence.

Date: Saturday, May 16, 2026
Location: Cheltenham Presbyterian Church 7507 Tookany Creek Pkwy, Cheltenham, PA 19012 • (215) 635-5643
Eligibility: Open to young musicians of Korean descent, aged 6 to 18 (inclusive), who reside in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley region. Eligibility requires that at least one parent or grandparent be of Korean heritage.
Categories: Piano, Strings (Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass), Voice, Woodwinds, Brass.
Application Deadline: May 9, 2026.
Application Fee (non-refundable): $75 (late fee $25).

Prizes:
Grand Prize The winner of the prize-winning concert is awarded the Grand Prize, which includes a certificate, a plaque, and $500 in prize money.

First Prize (in each age division): Certificate, plaque, and an opportunity to perform as a winner in a concert.

Second and Third Prizes (in each age division): Certificate and an opportunity to perform at the Winners Concert.

Honorable Mention Certificate.

This competition is more than just an event—it's an opportunity to celebrate our shared cultural heritage through music, build confidence, and connect with peers and mentors in the Korean-American community.
